Important notes:

  • Please generate a lost item inquiry in advance, otherwise it will not be possible to help you by phone.
  • Over the past few weeks, we have become aware of fraudulent activities by various fake accounts on social networks that are posing as Frankfurt Airport channels and allegedly selling lost baggage. Please note that the channels shown in the footer of this website are the only official accounts of Frankfurt Airport. If you come across suspicious postings or adverts from such accounts, we recommend that you report them on the respective platform.

The Lost & found office of Frankfurt Airport stores items that are found in the terminals or elsewhere on the airport premises. Additionally, if you lost something on board a Lufthansa Group flight, we can also help you find it.

If you have come to the airport by rail and lost or found something on the train, on the platform or in the station, please contact:

  

If you flew with a Lufthansa Group Airline (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Eurowings Discover and Air Dolomiti), we can help you relocate your lost object. For all other airlines please contact them directly.

You can personally pick up items from the Lost & found office at any time between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. A fee is charged for the service. You will need the following:

  • A valid photo ID
  • The date when the item was lost
  • A precise description of the lost item and/or proof that it belongs to you

When returning found items, we are required to give your name and address to the finder so they can contact you to collect the reward they are entitled to (if relevant).

You can help us search for your lost item by providing accurate information on it: for example, a serial number, details on its color, workmanship, material or brand. Receipts, other relevant documentation, keys etc. can also help us identify it.

You have two possibilities:

  • We can send it to you.

You can have someone else pick the item up for you. They will need to present  a power of attorney in original together with a copy of an ID-card / replacement ID-card or passport of the mandator of the power of attorney as well as with an original ID-card / passport of the recipient of the power of attorney.

Found items are auctioned off after three months if not claimed by that time. Perishable items such as food are immediately disposed of.

6 a.m. - 8 p.m.:  Lost & Found office (Terminal 1, Concourse A, Level 0)

8 p.m. - 6 a.m. : Luggage Storage (Terminal 1, Concourse B, Level 2)

8:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.:  Luggage Storage (Terminal 2, Concourse D, Level 2)

  

Please notice that these are drop-off only locations. Information concerning lost items or the hand return of lost items can only be performed at the lost & found office during its opening hours (Terminal 1, Concourse A, Level 0) as well as via the contact form above.

Contact the bank or other issuer right away to have your card blocked. For most German debit and credit cards, you can also call the following service at any time of the day or night:
