Transferring at Frankfurt Airport

We have compiled important information and valuable tips for your connecting flight at Frankfurt Airport.

After arriving in Frankfurt, the monitors at the arrivals gate will show you the gate and the gate of your onward flight. Then follow the signs to the relevant gate and use the journey time display.

Travelling time display

Travelling time display

The display boards in both terminals list the current flight details and departure gate as well as the journey time to the gate. One look is all it takes to know whether you need one or five minutes. As soon as the gate for a flight has been determined, the journey time to get there is displayed. The display boards with the journey times are located directly behind the security and passport controls.

Our Mobile Service Guides can be recognised by their red uniforms and are located at the important process points.

If you do not yet have a boarding pass for your connecting flight, you can obtain one from your airline's transfer desks. If there is no transfer desk on site, you will receive your boarding pass for your onward flight at the information desk at the departure gate and in the public area at your airline's check-in desk.

In most cases, your checked baggage will be automatically checked through to your destination airport. If this is not the case, collect your baggage from baggage reclaim and check it in again with your airline. This also applies if you have booked your flight connections individually.
